Learning about your government and country is often not the most thrilling thing you can do. This is why the Danish Geodata Agency recreated the entire country of Denmark in 1:1 scale inside of Minecraft - to make learning a bit more fun. Unfortunately, the Internet had its own agenda, and decided to teach those Danes an important lesson about ... we don't even know. Why can't we have nice things? GAMES In spite of the DGA shutting off dynamite from the map they designed which comprised more than 4 trillion blocks and 1 terabyte of information - intrepid Minecraft users discovered that in-game carts which carried the dynamite were in operation. This exploit allowed players to attack areas in virtual Denmark and place American flags or tanks in their places. Classy. Chris Hammeken, a DGA spokesperson, stated to The Register in the UK that there were only minor areas affected and that the DGA did not plan to restart the map. We consider that as a nature of playing Minecraft elements are broken down and new ones are created, Hammeken said. Therefore we will not reboot the demonstration of Denmark in Minecraft. However, we may rebuild minor areas if structures are removed and nothing new is created. The DGA still provides it for download if would like to see what's happened to virtual Denmark.
